Roadrunners baseball loses three of four Region games

March 29 Three Rivers Community College at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners split a pair of Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference games with Three Rivers Community College on Friday, March 29 at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field in Sedalia winning the first game 9-8, before falling 12-7 in game two.

In game one, sophomore outfielder Logan Miller recorded two hits including a double. Miller also stole a pair of bases. Sophomore pitcher/third baseman Jayden Little also had two hits, including a home run, three runs scored and an RBI. Sophomore outfielder Sam Russo added a double, two runs and an RBI. Freshman middle infielder Sam Paule had two doubles in the game to go along with RBI. Freshman catcher Beck Jones added a pair of hits and an RBI. Sophomore middle infielder Ryan Retone hit a home run in. Freshman catcher Malichi Antle had a pair of RBIs. Outfielder/first baseman Dayne Wimberly recorded a stolen base. As a team, SFCC registered 12 hits in the game.

Sophomore pitcher Carter DeGondea got the start and gave up three runs on five hits, struck out six and walked five in six innings. Freshman pitcher Parker Lambeth picked up the win in relief, going two-thirds of an inning with one strike out.

In game two, Little led the offensive attack for SFCC with three hits, including two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Sophomore first baseman/third baseman Carter Jenkins had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored. Wimberly doubled and scored a pair of runs. Russo, Antle and sophomore outfielder Devyn Wright drove in a run each. Wright also stole a base.

Freshman pitcher Chase Schnieders got the start on the mound for SFCC. Schnieders pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up seven runs (six earned runs) on seven hits, struck out six and walked three. Schnieders was given the pitching loss.

March 30 Three Rivers Community College at Sedalia

SFCC (16-19, 5-11 in Region 16) dropped a pair of Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference games 12-4 and 10-7 against Three Rivers Community College at Liberty Park Stadium-Dey Field on Saturday, March 30.

In game one, Russo registered three hits and two RBIs. Little had a pair of hits. Miller added a double and scored a run. Jenkins scored a pair of runs and drove in a run. Sophomore third baseman Eli Cheaney also scored a run in the game. Paule drove in a run in the game.

Sophomore pitcher Tait Robertson got the start on the mound for SFCC. Robertson pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up five runs on seven hits, walked five and struck out six.

In game two, Jones led the offense with two  hits, including a home run, three RBIs and a run scored. Wimberly added two hits and a run scored. Russo had two hits, including a triple and two runs scored. Paule had two hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jenkins and freshman middle infielder Will Muench drove in a run each. Muench stole a pair of bases. Miller also stole a base. Little registered a double.

Sophomore pitcher Keith Piepmeier got the start for SFCC and gave up eight runs on eight hits, walked three and struck out four in 5 2/3 innings.
