State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners sophomore pitcher Bill Cain was named the Region 16 Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 15-21. The award is voted on by the coaches in Region 16.

Cain earned the award with an outstanding nine inning complete game shutout against Crowder College on Thursday, April 18. He scattered six hits and struck out 10 to help the Roadrunners defeat the nationally ranked Roughriders.

"Bill was able to execute and throw a bunch of strikes against Crowder," said Roadrunners Baseball Head Coach Jud Kindle. "He didn't get into trouble. He is a versatile pitcher who can fit into any role on the pitching staff."

Cain leads the Roadrunners with six wins on the year. He currently has a 3.15 earned run average. Cain leads the team in appearances with 13, with four starts. He has thrown three complete games this season for SFCC.
