Lady Roadrunners compete on home course

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners hosted their portion of the SFCC Roadrunner Spring Invitational at the Sedalia Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, March 18-19 in Sedalia.

Freshman Ava Kirkpatrick finished in fourth place as an individual. Kirkpatrick shot a 91 in the first round and followed that up with an 89 in the second round for a total score of 180 for the 36-hole event.

Freshman Marlee Andrews shot a 103 in the first round and lowered her score by eight strokes in the second round to shoot a 95 for a total score of 198 as an individual.

"All the players battled through very cold temperatures and wind on Monday and then stronger wind and warmer temperatures on Tuesday," said Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "While it was warmer, it was never warm. The golf course was difficult, and I am very happy with how our players played. Ava Kirkpatrick got a solo fourth-place finish and that is great."
