Lady Roadrunners Basketball Region Tournament Recap

April 6 Crowder College at Neosho, Missouri

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners fell 67-55 to Crowder College in the opening round of the Region 16 Tournament on Tuesday, April 6 in Neosho, Missouri.

SFCC (1-18) led 14-13 at the end of one quarter. Crowder took control of the game outscoring the Lady Roadrunners 24-4 to take the halftime advantage. The Lady Roadrunners outscored Crowder in each of the final two quarters, but could not overcome the deficit.

Freshman guard/forward Donnisia Harrison of Chicago, Illinois led SFCC in scoring with 12 points. Harrison also registered a team-high five steals in the contest. Freshman guard/forward Ty'Raven Linwood of Mount Vernon, Texas pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Harrison and freshman guard/forward Tieriney Echols of Memphis, Tennessee tied for the team lead in assists with three each.

Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher closed out his career as a head coach at SFCC with 181 career wins and two appearances at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. He has also coached numerous student-athletes who have gone on to complete their academic and athletic careers at four-year colleges or universities during his time as the head coach at SFCC.
