Lady Roadrunners Basketball Recaps March 8-13

March 8 Jefferson College at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners lost a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game 77-74 at home to the Jefferson College Lady Vikings on Monday, March 8.

The game featured 13 lead changes and 10 ties. SFCC held a 10-point advantage in the second quarter, which was the largest lead held by either team in the contest. SFCC entered halftime with a 40-37 lead, but Jefferson took a one-point advantage at the end of three quarters. SFCC battled in the fourth quarter and had an opportunity to tie the game on the final possession, but was unable to convert.

Freshman guard/forward Amaya Coakley of Killeen, Texas led four Lady Roadrunners with 18 points. Freshman guard Grace Goodwin of Sedalia just missed a double-double with 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Freshman guard/forward Ty'Raven Linwood of Mount Vernon, Texas and freshman guard/forward Donnisia Harrison of Chicago, Illinois chipped in with 13 points each. Harrison added three assists, which tied for the team lead with Coakley. Freshman forward Ja'Kyah Amous of Chicago, Illinois scored 12 points. Harrison also blocked a team-high two shots and freshman guard Eliyah Howard of Texarkana, Texas led the team with four steals.

March 10 Moberly Area Community College at Sedalia

SFCC lost a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game to the 15th-ranked Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds 93-69 on Wednesday, March 10 inside the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

The Lady Greyhounds led by 10 points at halftime and took control of the game in the third quarter to secure the victory.

Coakley and Harrison tied for the team lead in scoring with 17 points each. Freshman guard Aaliyah Chambers of Kansas City added 10. Coakley and Chambers also tied forthe team lead in rebounds with seven each. Coakley also led her team in steals with four. Howard and Goodwin led the team with three assists each.

March 13 Crowder College at Neosho, Missouri

SFCC (0-11, 0-10 in Region 16, 0-8 in the MCCAC) lost a regional matchup to Crowder College 81-70 on Saturday, March 13 in Neosho.

Harrison led four Lady Roadrunners in double figures with 13 points. Goodwin scored 12 points and and eight rebounds. Amous and sophomore guard Briasia Garza of Houston, Texas each contributed 10 points. Garza registered three assists and four steals, both team-highs. Amous led the team in blocked shots with two.
