Women’s Basketball Recaps March 1, 3 and 6

March 1 Jefferson College at Hillsboro

The Lady Roadrunners dropped a 97-60 decision to the Jefferson College Lady Vikings. The game was part of the Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule.

Freshman guard/forward Donnisia Harrison of Chicago, Illinois, led three Lady Roadrunners in scoring with 17 points. Harrison also tied for the team lead in steals with two with two other teammates. Freshman guard Grace Goodwin of Sedalia added 16 points and tied for the team lead in steals with two. Freshman guard/forward Tieriney Echols of Memphis, Tennessee, pitched in with 10 points and tied for the team lead in steals with two. Freshman forward Ja'Kyah Amous of Chicago, Illinois, pulled down a team-high seven rebounds in the game.

March 3 Mineral Area College at Park Hills

SFCC fell to the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals 85-54. The game was part of the Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule.

The Lady Cardinals led 15-13 at the end of the first quarter. Mineral Area took control of the game outscoring SFCC 19-7 in the second quarter and 24-6 in the third quarter.

Goodwin led SFCC in scoring with 12 points. Freshman guard Aaliyah Chambers of Kansas City and Amous registered 10 points each. Amous also tied for the team lead in rebounds pulling down seven along with freshman guard Eliyah Howard of Texarkana, Texas, and Harrison. Harrison led the team in assists with two.

March 6 Three Rivers Community College at Sedalia

SFCC (0-8, 0-7 in Region 16, 0-6 in the MCCAC) fell to the 13th ranked Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders 92-43 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. The game was part of the Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference schedule.

SFCC led 13-12 at the end of first quarter. The Lady Raiders went on a 30-8 run, which covered the entire second quarter to take command of the contest.

Harrison led the Lady Roadrunners in scoring with 11 points. Goodwin pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Harrison, Howard, and freshman guard/forward Ty'Raven Linwood of Mount Vernon, Texas, all tied for the team lead in assists with two. Freshman guard/forward Amaya Coakley of Killeen, Texas, had a team-high three steals.

Lady Roadrunners Assistant Coach LaTice Jones coached the Lady Roadrunners in the game in the absence of Head Coach Kevin Bucher.
