Lady Roadrunners Basketball Recap Feb. 13

Feb. 13 Missouri Baptist University Junior Varsity at St. Louis, Missouri

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners made their regular season debut with an entirely new roster on Saturday, Feb. 13, in a 58-53 loss to the Missouri Baptist University Junior Varsity Lady Spartans in St. Louis. The hard-fought game featured four lead changes and two ties.

"I felt good for the players," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "They wanted to be out there on the court. They had gone through all the practices in the fall and spring and had not had a chance to play a game. I want to thank Missouri Baptist, because we needed a game badly to get our kids to see what we needed to do in order to get better."

Freshman guard/forward Tieriney Echols of Memphis, Tennessee put together a double-double in her first game as a Lady Roadrunner with 13 points, 11 rebounds and five assists; team highs in each. Sophomore guard Briasia Garza of Houston, Texas pitched in with 10 points. Freshman guard Eliyah Howard of Texarkana, Texas and freshman guard/forward Donnisia Harrison of Chicago, Illinois tied for the team lead with three steals each.
