SFCC defeats Lady Vikings

The Lady Roadrunners started the 2017 portion of their schedule with a 92-35 victory over the Missouri Valley College Lady Vikings JV on Jan. 6 in Marshall. The victory was the third in a row for the Lady Roadrunners.

SFCC (9-5) got their offense going in the first quarter with a blistering 21-0 run. At halftime, the Lady Roadrunners led 48-23.

"We were able to use our speed to take control," said Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "We've been working on conditioning. Our depth took over, and we shot the ball extremely well. Our post players played well and were able to be aggressive."

Freshman guard Ren'Cia Rolling led in scoring with 18 points. Freshman guard/forward Catie Kaifes contributed 17 points while knocking down three three-point shots. Sophomore guard Ahjana Oakes added 11.

SFCC will return home on Jan. 10 to take on the Southeastern Community College Lady Blackhawks from Keokuk, Iowa. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m. in the Davis Center. The Roadrunners will take on Link Year Prep following the women's game.
