Lady Roadrunners Sweep Stone Laser Imaging Classic

The 13th-ranked Lady Roadrunners won their fifth game in a row Nov. 14 when they defeated the Central Community College-Columbus Lady Raiders from Columbus, Nebraska, 83-46. The game was part of the Stone Laser Imaging Classic at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.

SFCC (7-1) led the game 45-12 at halftime. The Lady Roadrunners out-rebounded Central Community College 32-12 in the first-half.

"We went to a quicker starting lineup," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. "We were able to get out in transition. This is the first time we got a lift off the bench after we substituted. We didn't let down and we were able to play well."

Freshman guard Alexis Cowan led three Lady Roadrunners in double-figure scoring with 17 points and led the team in steals with five. Sophomore guard Zhanesha Dickerson contributed 15 points. Sophomore guard Ecenur Yurdakul added 10 points. Freshman center Kendra Boone led in rebounds with seven. Freshman guard Mary Ware dished out a team-high four assists.

Alexis Cowan earned Most Valuable Player honors for the Stone Laser Imaging Classic. Dickerson joined her on the All-Classic team.

SFCC will host the Butler Community College-Kansas Lady Grizzlies at 6 p.m. Nov.16 to close out its four-game home stand. Butler defeated SFCC 66-33 earlier this month in El Dorado, Kansas.
