Lady Roadrunners Fall at Butler

The 13th-ranked Lady Roadrunners lost 66-33 to the Butler Community College-Kansas Grizzlies Nov. 2 in El Dorado, Kansas.

The Lady Roadrunners (2-1) struggled all evening. They led 6-5 early in the game, but Butler fought back to take a 15-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Butler's advantage grew to 31-16 at halftime. SFCC shot 15.4 percent from the field and 15.8 percent from beyond the three-point line.
Sophomore guard Zhanesha Dickerson and freshman guard Danae' Cole tied for the lead in scoring with seven points each. Sophomore forward Thelma Williams pulled down a team-high six rebounds and sophomore guard Ecenur Yurdakul dished out a team-high two assists. Cole led in steals with two.
The Lady Roadrunners will travel to Poplar Bluff Nov. 6-7 to participate in the Three Rivers Classic. SFCC will play Wabash Valley College at 5:30 p.m. Friday and Kaskaskia College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
