Rapp Commits to Graceland University

State Fair Community College (SFCC) sophomore pitcher/outfielder Abigail Rapp of King City has decided to continue her studies and play at Graceland University, an NAIA University in Lamoni, Iowa. Rapp will sign a National Letter of Intent with an opportunity to gain an extra year of athletic eligibility because of the cancellation of the spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her sophomore year at SFCC, Rapp finished with a 1-2 record as a pitcher, picking up the victory over Southeastern Community College in a complete game. She struck out six batters.

Rapp led all pitchers with nine appearances for SFCC. Rapp made five starts for the Lady Roadrunners and finished second on the team in innings pitched with 31 and second on the squad with 14 strikeouts.

As a freshman, Rapp compiled a 3-2 record with six starts in 13 appearances for SFCC. Rapp tossed two complete games and compiled 32 1/3 innings, struck out 18 and finished with a 2.60 ERA.

"She (Rapp) had to pitch through injuries during a lot of her career," said Lady Roadrunners Softball Head Coach Lyndsey Talbot. "When she pitched, she was productive. We are going to miss her. She definitely has the ability to be a starting pitcher, but she also does well coming in as a relief pitcher. She is mentally strong, you can't shake her."
