The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners split a doubleheader at Fort Scott Community College on Thursday, March 14 winning game one 8-0 in six innings because of the run rule, before losing game two by a score of 6-2.

In game one, freshman catcher/utility player Jordan Fischer of New Florence, Missouri led SFCC with three hits including a home run and a double. She drove in four runs and scored one. Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Madison Love of Holts Summit, Missouri had two hits, including a double and three runs scored. Sophomore outfielder Jacki Watson of Raytown, Missouri contributed two hits, two RBI and a run scored. Sophomore utility player Emily Wilson of Oak Grove, Missouri contributed two hits and two runs batted in. Freshman pitcher/infielder Alissa Collette of Strafford, Missouri had a pair of hits.

Love continued her outstanding pitching in the circle tossing a complete game shutout. She scattered two hits and struck out 11 batters.

"Madison had another dominant performance for us in the circle," said Lady Roadrunners Softball Head Coach Lyndsey Talbot. "Jordan Fischer led us offensively and Emily Wilson also had a couple of clutch hits for us."

In game two, Fort Scott held the Lady Roadrunners to only two hits in the game. Freshman utility player Reagan Hockett of Sedalia, Missouri had a hit and a run scored. Watson also added a hit and a run scored. Fischer drove in a run.

"Our pitchers did what we asked them to do in game two," said Talbot. "We just always have one inning where we just kind of struggle. Fort Scott scored three runs in one inning to kind of break the game open. Our pitch selection needs to improve. We are also struggling to move runners. That has kind of been a theme in game two."

Collette got the start in the circle for SFCC. She pitched five and two-thirds innings. Collette allowed six runs, five of which were earned on 10 hits and struck out four. Collette was given the pitching loss.

The Lady Roadrunners record currently stands at 6-6.
