Roadrunners earn postseason honors

Freshman defender/midfielder Connor Scott and freshman defender Mosiah Bonney have earned Region 16 postseason recognition. Scott was named All-Region 16 First Team. Bonney was named to the All-Region 16 Second Team. Honors were awarded by coaches within Region 16, with coaches unable to vote for their own team's student-athletes.

"Congratulations to all the SFCC soccer players who competed this season," said Head Coach Michael Poropat. "Connor and Mosiah competed at a level that is unrivaled! They are warriors, leaders, and a big part of our foundation."

Scott started in 10 games for SFCC. Scott finished tied for second on the team in assists with two.

Bonney played in 11 games, started 10, and helped to anchor the SFCC defense.

Freshman midfielder Jervan Matthew and sophomore center midfielder Ian Viscarra also earned honors from the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Matthew was named to the First Team. Viscarra was named to the Second Team. The awards were voted on by the coaches in the Conference.

"Jervan is incredibly talented," said Poropat. "He will have a massive sophomore season. Ian is a cohesive player, a leader, and a captain. He will graduate in December. He will have a very good career at his next college. He was a joy to coach."

Matthew played in 12 games and started 11 as a freshman. Matthew scored three goals, which was tied for third on the team and registered two assists during his first season at SFCC. Matthew tallied eight points, which placed him third on the team in points.

Viscarra played and started in 12 games as a sophomore for SFCC. Viscarra recorded an assist and scored a point during his sophomore campaign.
