Oct. 8 East Central College at Sedalia

SFCC (4-7-2, 1-3-1 in Region 16, 1-3 in the MCCAC) emerged with a 2-1 victory in double overtime over East Central College at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex on Saturday, Oct. 8.

East Central scored on a headshot from a corner kick with 33 minutes and 22 seconds remaining in the opening half. SFCC tied the match with a goal from sophomore Kenzo Florio with 23 minutes 35 seconds remaining, with an assist from Leonardo Camatta.

The game remained tied until the second overtime, when freshman Kilian Jung scored off a well-executed play that sent the home fans away happy, courtesy of an assist from freshman Bruno Saucedo.

"We got the ball off a clearance," said Roadrunners Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "It was a play that we spent a lot of time working on, to switch from one side of the field to the other and attack the box. We had a couple of opportunities like that today and we wouldn't unleash the shot. I'm very proud of Kilian for recognizing the opportunity. Both of our goals were very similar. It's always very uplifting to see your team do something that you work on in practice."

As a team, SFCC took 19 shots, 10 of which were on target. Saucedo took a team-leading seven shots, with four on target.

Freshman goalkeeper AJ Young and sophomore goalkeeper Wesley Morrison shared time in goal for SFCC. Young recorded three saves. Morrison recorded seven saves.

"East Central is a good team and they were playing their game. We had to play ours. Our team played hard. It was good game."
