Aug. 24 Southeast Community College at Beatrice, Nebraska

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners shutout Southeast Community College 1-0 in Beatrice, Nebraska on Tuesday, August 24 in a hard fought match with temperatures reaching triple digits. The victory gave the Roadrunners consecutive road wins to open the season.

Freshman forward Francisco Zubia scored in the 68th minute to put the Roadrunners on the scoreboard off a pass from sophomore midfielder Tebello Ntene. SFCC made the plays down the stretch to secure the victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Wesley Morrison made four saves in the net for SFCC to record his first collegiate shutout.

"Our defense played extremely well," said SFCC Soccer Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "We were able to control the tempo of the game most of the time. We had many chances to score. We need to continue to work on our final touch. We also had good possession in the game. We just need to finish a little bit better. Our depth was tested in this game and responded very well."
