Red Dragons defeat Roadrunners

The Roadrunners soccer team took on Wentworth Military Academy and College Red Dragons on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 13. SFCC (3-10-1) fell by a score of 3-2. 

SFCC got on the scoreboard first with 39 minutes and 47 seconds remaining in the opening half when freshman midfielder Gire Ngezahayo found the back of the net courtesy of a pass from fellow freshman midfielder Logan Horn. SFCC made the score 2-0 when freshman forward Omar Hayes scored off another assist from Horn at the 27-minute, 39-second mark of the first half. 

The Red Dragons answered with a goal late in the first half and notched a pair of second half goals to secure the victory. 

"It was a disappointing match," said Roadrunners Head Soccer Coach Eddie Horn. 

SFCC will be back at home at 1 p.m. Oct. 16 to play the Missouri Valley College junior varsity in their final regular season home match at the Sports Complex west of the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.
