Roadrunners fall to Missouri Valley

The SFCC Roadrunners soccer team (1-4-1) took on the Missouri Valley College Vikings JV Sept. 15 at home and fell 3-0. MVC got on the board first at the third minute. They followed that with another goal in the 24th minute and one in the 64th minute.

"We wanted to use this game as an opportunity to evaluate the guys that haven't gotten to play very much," said Roadrunners Head Soccer Coach Eddie Horn. "We wanted to look at where they are and what role they might be able to fill within the team. While the score might not look so good, I think it was an opportunity to move some of the guys that haven't gotten to play around and get a true assessment of them in a game situation."

The Roadrunners will return to Region 16 play at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 against Crowder College Roughriders in Neosho. SFCC will finish the weekend with another match against the Missouri Valley College JV in Marshall at 2 p.m. Sept. 18.

"Crowder will be very interesting from a coaching perspective to see where we are," said Horn. "They are a midlevel team in the region, so I'll be interested to see how we match up with them."
