Lady Roadrunners open outdoor season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners track and field team claimed nine top eight finishes at the Central Methodist Open on Saturday, March 16 in Fayette.

Freshman Bailey Haselhorst recorded the best finish of the day for the Lady Roadrunners. Haselhorst won the javelin with a throw of 41.43 meters.

Sophomore Tanner Maggard finished second in the 3000m with a time of 11:29.07.

Sophomore Keiyah Cole finished second in the 400m with a time of 1:02.47. Cole finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.77.

Freshman Claire Nichols placed third in the javelin with a throw of 36.10 meters.

Freshman Kira Phipps finished fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.45 meters.

Freshman Molly Prichard finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.57 meters.

Freshman Shelby West placed sixth in the 3000m with a time of 11:43.34.

Freshman Christina Gifford finished seventh in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.15 meters.

"We were all very excited to be outdoors this week," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "It was a beautiful day for a track meet and our performances definitely showed it. Bailey certainly led the way for the Lady Roadrunners with a win and National qualifying mark in the javelin. Keiyah showed well with her finish in her first collegiate 400m. We go to Rolla next weekend for another meet."
