September 5, Central Methodist University at Sedalia

The Lady Roadrunners lost to the Central Methodist University Eagles from Fayette 2-1.

The Eagles scored first off a corner kick at about the 30-minute mark of the opening half and took that advantage into halftime. SFCC tied the game with a long shot from sophomore forward Kristen Farrell off an assist from sophomore defender Sarah Garcia at the 51-minute mark.  The Eagles put the game away scoring on a free kick.

Freshman goalkeepers Jessica Coble and Trinity Sigler split time in goal for SFCC. Coble registered three saves, and Sigler stopped two shots. Freshman midfielder Raleigh Johns led the team with two shots on goal.

"We struggled to execute the game plan this afternoon," said Head Coach Jaime Beltran.

September 6, Central Methodist University at Fayette

For the second time in as many days, SFCC took on CMU and lost 2-1.

Central Methodist scored first with about 12 minutes remaining in the opening half. SFCC tied the game in the second half with a goal from freshman midfielder Raleigh Johns with an assist fromBianca Meza.

With less than 10 minutes left in the game, CMU scored for the win.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Coble had two saves. Freshman midfielder Raleigh Johns and freshman forward Bianca Meza tied for the team lead in shots with two each.

"It was the same result, but our girls played a lot better in the second match against Central Methodist," said Head Coach Jaime Beltran. "We hit the post three times, but that didn't change the result."

September 9, St. Charles Community College at Sedalia

The Lady Roadrunners got their first taste of Region 16 play against the St. Charles Community College Cougars from Cottleville, Missouri. St. Charles won 3-0.

Members of the Sedalia United Soccer Academy girls 10 and under team joined the Lady Roadrunners on the field for the national anthem and served as ball kids.

The match was scoreless at halftime. With less than 40 minutes to play, St. Charles scored off a corner kick and scored again with 37 minutes and 15 seconds on the clock. The Cougars scored their final goal with less than 15 minutes remaining.

Sophomore forward Tiffany Wehmeyer and freshman midfielder Raleigh Johns registered two shots on goal each. Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Coble registered 10 saves.

"We are still trying to bounce back from a couple of key injuries in the middle of field," said Head Coach Jaime Beltran.

The Lady Roadrunners record currently stands at 1-5-1, 0-1 in Region play.
