Softball drops two at Jefferson

 

March 26 Jefferson College at Hillsboro, Missouri

State Fair Community College (SFCC) (2-16, 1-7 in Region 16) dropped a pair of Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference games to Jefferson College by scores of 6-1 and  8-0 in six innings on Saturday, March 26 in Hillsboro, Missouri.

In game one, freshman Jacqueline Klein had a pair of hits and an RBI. Freshman Rylee Hagens recorded a double. Sophomore catcher/second baseman Haley Mackey scored the only run of the contest for SFCC.

Sophomore pitcher Tabitha Imhoff got the start for SFCC. Imhoff pitched four innings, gave up five runs on eight hits and struck out three. Freshman pitcher Kennidi Harris pitched the final two innings and allowed one unearned run on one hit and struck out one.

In game two, the SFCC offense was held to just five hits. Freshman Lauren Strange, freshman Paige Clines, sophomore second baseman/third baseman Kelsey Webb, Klein, and sophomore utility player Kailee Liles each had one hit in the contest.

Sophomore pitcher Sadie Kumm got the start for SFCC. Kumm pitched 3.2 innings, allowed two runs on four hits and struck out five. Freshman pitcher Kaycee Thompson came out in relief and allowed five runs, only one of which was earned on four hits. Freshman pitcher Alexis Hughes finished the game for SFCC.
