Lady Roadrunners Softball Recaps April 19-22

April 19 North Central Missouri College at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners split a Region 16 doubleheader dropping the first game 2-1 before bouncing back to earn the split 10-4 against 17th ranked North Central Missouri College on Monday, April 19 at Mandy Thomas Field (Centennial Park).

In game one, sophomore infielder Alexis Gilliland of Jefferson City had two hits. Freshman outfielder Ellie Eckert of Auxvasse, freshman infielder Kelsey Webb of Oak Grove, and sophomore outfielder Haley Berhorst of Holts Summit each recorded one hit. Berhorst scored a run and Webb drove in a run.

Sophomore pitcher Aleah Paxton of Lincoln went the distance for SFCC and gave up two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out two.

In game two, freshman third baseman Allie Ferrell of Columbia had three hits, including a home run and drove in six. Gilliland had two hits, including a double to go along with one RBI and three runs. Sophomore catcher/third baseman Brooke Conner of Sweet Springs had two hits, a run and an RBI. Berhorst hit a home run. Sophomore middle infielder Summer Collier of Oak Grove also drove in a run. Webb scored two runs.

Freshman pitcher Sadie Kumm of Higginsville got the start for SFCC. Kumm pitched five innings and gave up four hits, four runs (two earned) and struck out two. Freshman pitcher Tabitha Imhoff Jefferson City pitched the final two innings for SFCC and gave up two hits.

April 21 Three Rivers Community College at Sedalia

SFCC dropped a pair of Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference games 10-2 and 15-1 in five innings to Three Rivers Community College on Wednesday, April 21 at Mandy Thomas Field (Centennial Park).

In game one, the SFCC offense was held to just six hits. Webb recorded a double. Gilliland, Conner, Ferrell, Collier and freshman catcher/second baseman Haley Mackey of Lincoln each had one hit. Gilliland and freshman middle infielder Erica Schweer of Russellville each scored a run.

Paxton got the start for SFCC and pitched three innings, gave up nine runs (five of which were earned) on seven hits and struck out two. Imhoff pitched four innings, gave up one run on two hits and struck out one.

In game two, SFCC was held to just three hits. Berhorst had a hit and a run batted in. Ferrell and Collier also recorded hits in the contest. Conner scored the run for SFCC.

Freshman pitcher/first baseman Catrina Ford of Branson started for SFCC. Ford pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowed seven runs (three of which were earned) on six hits and struck out one.

April 22 Jefferson College at Sedalia

SFCC (16-26) dropped a pair of Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference games to Jefferson College 11-2 and 7-2 on Thursday, April 22 at Mandy Thomas Field (Centennial Park).

In game one, the SFCC offense was held to five hits. Collier and Conner had a hit and an RBI each. Webb, Gilliland, and Berhorst all recorded hits. Eckert and Schweer each scored a run.

Paxton got the start for SFCC. Paxton pitched five innings, gave up seven runs (four of which were earned) on eight hits and struck out two. Imhoff pitched the final two innings in relief. Imhoff gave up four runs on seven hits and struck out one.

In game two, the SFCC offense garnered just two hits. Webb and Ferrell each had a double. Webb and freshman first baseman Olivia Butler of Holden each drove in a run. Ferrell and freshman infielder/outfielder Kailee Liles of Lee's Summit also scored a run.

Kumm got the start for SFCC. Kumm pitched four innings, allowed two runs on four hits, and struck out three. Ford pitched three innings, allowed five runs on eight hits, and struck out three.
