Waller qualifies for Nationals in the discus at SBU

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team competed at the SBU Bearcat Invitational hosted by Southwest Baptist University at Plaster Stadium in Bolivar on Friday and Saturday, March 29-30.

The 4 x 100m relay team finished third with a time of 45.58 to record the best finish of the day for the Roadrunners.

Freshman Peyton Ligon finished seventh in the high jump with a jump of 1.94 meters.

Freshman Isaiah Waller finished seventh in the discus with a throw of 47.40 meters.

"We continued with a very consistent season highlighted by a couple of home runs," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Our field events continue to be a strong area of our team with most of our points being scored there. Isaiah Waller was a bright spot for our men's team qualifying for Nationals in the discus. Justin Horn had arguably our best day on the track with a huge personal record in the 800m. We take next weekend off and pick back up in two weeks at UCM."
