Roadrunners compete in Kansas

Two student-athletes from the State Fair Community College (SFCC) golf team competed in the Bethany College Classic at the par 72 Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas on Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9.

Sophomore Keaton Mateja finished with scores of 84 and 85 for a total score of 169 (tied for 48th) at the two round event.

Sophomore Alfred Poulter of Milton Keynes, England shot scores of 93 and 94 for a total score of 187 to finish 57th.

"We had a great tournament on a great golf course," said Head Coach Wayne Ogle. "We are nearing the end of the season. We need to eliminate penalties and get a little better off the tee to be successful at the district level."
