Former State Fair Community College Roadrunners basketball standout Devon Ellis has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Valparaiso University (Indiana) after spending one season at the University Of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Ellis played for the Roadrunners during the 2022-2023 season. He was named First Team All-Region 16 and First Team All-Missouri Community College Athletic Conference.

Ellis averaged 11.3 points per game and pulled down 4.4 rebounds per game at the University Of Maryland Eastern Shore last season.

"Devon had a good year here for us as a freshman," said Head Coach Matt Brown. "He went to Maryland Eastern Shore and led the team in scoring. He is an excellent student and a really good kid. He came to SFCC with no Division I offers. We are proud of him. In the last seven years, we have had 28 young men sign to continue their academic and athletic careers, 14 of them have signed at the Division I level."
