Roadrunners Basketball Recap March 17-20

March 17 Mineral Area College at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners lost a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game 64-46 to the second ranked Mineral Area College Cardinals (MACC) from Park Hills on Wednesday, March 16 inside the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

Mineral Area started the game fast leading 12-3 with less than 17 minutes to go in the opening half. The Roadrunners would add 18 to trim the Cardinals' lead to 33-21 at halftime. MACC held SFCC to 25 points in the second half to secure the victory.

Freshman guard Chad Kratzer Jr. of Allentown, Pennsylvania was the only Roadrunner scored 12 points. Sophomore guard/forward Kohen Thompson of Memphis, Tennessee, Freshman/forward Lavric Mangala of Nashville, Tennessee, Kratzer, freshman guard Tavari Eckwood of Springdale, Arkansas, and sophomore forward Corey Nzigamasabo Montréal, Canada all tied for the team lead in rebounds with four. Freshman guard Caleb Mims of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania had a team-high four assists. Thompson added two blocked shots. Freshman guard Malek Mims of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania led the team in steals with two.

March 20 Three Rivers Community College at Poplar Bluff, Missouri

SFCC (7-12, 2-8 in Region 16, 2-8 in the MCCAC) dropped a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game 75-62 to the Three Rivers Community College Raiders on Saturday, March 20 in Poplar Bluff.

Three Rivers led 19-11 with under nine minutes to go in the first half. The Raiders went on a late 5-0 run to take a 35-26 lead into halftime.

Thompson scored a team-high 22 points. Mangala added 10 points and a team-high six rebounds. Kratzer also pitched in with 10 points and tied for the team lead in steals with three along with Caleb Mims, who led the team in assists with four.
