Men's basketball signs Damaria Franklin

State Fair Community College Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced the addition of Damaria Franklin from Chicago, Illinois, as the first member of the Roadrunners 2018-2019 recruiting class. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at SFCC.

Franklin, a 6'3" guard, played basketball at Niles North High School in Skokie, Illinois, for Head Coach Glenn Olson. Franklin was a three-year starter and a three-time all-conference player. He also earned all-state and all-area honors and was named a Wintrust Athlete of the Week by Wintrust Bank and NBS Sports Chicago.

"With Damaria's ability to get to the basket, he will be a welcome addition," said Brown. "He will help fill the void left in the back court because of the graduation of Christian Brown and A.J. Walker. He comes from a solid high school program at Niles North that faces good competition every year."

Franklin averaged 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest as a senior. He also registered 5.6 assists and 3.4 steals per game.
