Roadrunners game recap Feb. 10

Roadrunners game recap Feb. 10

Feb. 10, Iowa Western Community College at Council Bluffs

The Roadrunners (17-7) were defeated 94-70 by IWCC Reivers. The Reivers are receiving votes in the NJCAA national poll.

Freshman guard Tim Leavell opened the scoring with a three-point basket to put the Roadrunners on the scoreboard. Iowa Western responded with a 7-0 run to take the lead and led 46-28 at halftime.

In the second half, the Reivers outscored the Roadrunners 48-42.

"We had a couple of guys who didn't play against Iowa Western," said Head Coach Matt Brown. "We were able to get other players some experience. Christian Brown returned from an injury, so that was good. It wasn't one of our best efforts, but hopefully we will have more guys healthy and ready to go for the next game."

Freshman guard/forward Caleb Coleman tied for the team lead in scoring with freshman guard Tyreek Scott-Grayson scoring 14 points each. Leavell contributed 12 points. Coleman pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Scott-Grayson led the team in steals with one.

SFCC returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, when they travel to West Plains to take on the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies in a Region 16 and Missouri Community College Athletic Conference game.
