With less than five minutes left in the game, sophomore guard Derrick Brock, Jr. got a shooters bounce on another three-point shot to give the team a 72-64 lead.

"We didn't turn the ball over as much," said Brown. "Penn Valley went to a zone defense, and Dominic was able to come in and hit some big shots for us. Derrick Brock also hit some big shots. It was a team effort. We were also able to get some big stops on the defensive end of the floor."

Freshman guard/forward Caleb Coleman led the Roadrunners in scoring with 16 points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with eight with guard/forward LePear Toles. Fragola contributed 13 points, hitting three three-point shots. Walker and freshman guard Dru Smith pitched in 11 points each. Brock added 10. Toles dished out a team-high four assists. Coleman, Brock and freshman guard Tyreek Scott-Grayson registered two blocked shots each. Feb. 3, Three Rivers Community College at Poplar Bluff

The Roadrunners (17-6, 2-3 in Region 16, 4-3 in the MCCAC) fell 88-73 to Three Rivers Community College Raiders. The game featured two lead changes and one tie.

Three Rivers jumped out to an early 10-5 lead and led 44-27 at halftime. SFCC was out rebounded 45-38.

"Three Rivers played well," said Brown. "We did not shoot well from the free-throw line or the field. This late in the season, we have to make our free throws and our layups if we want to win on the road. I hope that we can learn from this and get ready for Saturday. We only have five games left in the season."

Leavell led five Roadrunners in double-figure scoring with 14 points and tied with Walker and Brock for the team lead in assists with three each. Toles and Scott-Grayson contributed 12 points each. Toles led the team in steals with three. Coleman added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Smith pitched in 10 points.
