Greyhounds Defeat Roadrunners

The State Fair Community College Roadrunners (12-5, 1-1 in Region 16 and 2-1 in the MCCAC) fell to the Moberly Area Community College Greyhounds on Wednesday, Jan. 13, by a score of 86-58. 

The Roadrunners trailed 35-30 at halftime in a game that featured eight lead changes and four ties. Moberly exploded in the second half outscoring SFCC 51-28. 

"For the last two days in practice it has been a struggle to get our guys to compete and play hard," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "I tip my hat to Moberly; they played hard, and they played hungry." 

Sophomore guard Ronnie Rousseau III led two Roadrunners in double-figure scoring with 20 points, including 10 out of 10 from the free-throw line. Freshman guard Willie Jimerson Jr. contributed 13 points and registered two steals. He also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and tied for the team lead in assists with three. Rousseau tied for the team lead in assists with three. Sophomore forward Clint Robinson led the team in blocked shots with two. 

SFCC will return to action at home on Wednesday, Jan. 20, when they host the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies in a key region and conference game. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
