Raiders Defeat Roadrunners

The Roadrunners fell to the Three Rivers Community College Raiders 67-36 Feb. 7 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

SFCC (4-19, 0-5 in Region 16, 0-5 in the MCCAC) led 5-2 early in the contest courtesy of a three-point basket from freshman guard Joshua Bailey. Three Rivers took a 7-5 advantage with about 10 minutes remaining in the first half. The Raiders led 24-11 at halftime.

"We were pretty solid defensively in the first half," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "Our guys paid attention to the scouting report and guarded players the way we wanted them guarded. Three Rivers really struggled."

Three Rivers picked up the tempo in the second half, outscoring SFCC 43-25 to secure the win. Freshman forward Selvedin Planincic led the Roadrunners in scoring with 12 points, pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and led in steals with three. Freshman forward Clint Robinson added seven rebounds and registered a team-high three blocked shots. Bailey added nine points.

"Selvedin played well; he was our leading scorer and rebounder," said Thomas. "Offensively, we just struggled to get anything going."

SFCC will return home Feb. 11 to take on the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
