Roadrunners Defeat Westminster Junior Varsity

The 19th-ranked Roadrunners picked up their first win of the season Nov. 14 when they defeated the Westminster College Blue Jays Junior Varsity 91-47. The game was part of the opening round of the Stone Laser Imaging Classic at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center.

SFCC (1-5) led from the beginning of the game.

"I'm glad we got a win," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "Hopefully we'll keep improving and beat other teams on our schedule. We have a long way to go defensively."

All five Roadrunner starters scored in double figures, led by freshman guard Ra'Chaun Martin with 22 points. He finished his double double with 10 assists. Freshman forward Clint Robinson also recorded a double double with 14 points and a team-high 12 rebounds; he also led the team in blocked shots with three. Freshman guard Hakeem Coney registered a third double double with 14 points and a team-high 11 assists; he led the team in steals with five. Freshman guard Joshua Bailey added 13 points. Sophomore guard Dondre Alexander pitched in with 12 points.

"We had several guys in double figures and that's what we need," said Thomas.
