SFCC Esports ready for spring playoffs

The State Fair Community College Esports will enter the NJCAAE spring playoffs with teams in five different titles. The playoffs are set to begin on Tuesday, April 16 when Stetson Mahin participates in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Daniel Ortiz already competed in FIFA and placed fourth in the regionals.

SFCC will also be represented in Overwatch 2 by Trenton Hardy, Doug Tallon, Jackie Frost and Jemyle Thomas. That competition is set to begin on Wednesday, April 17.

Evan Webb and Morgan Green will represent SFCC in Call of Duty: Warzone. The playoffs in that title will begin on Friday, April 19.

The SFCC Rocket League consisting of Wesley Albin, Jemyle Thomas and Diego Flores-Elizalde are the top seed in that event. They will begin play on Friday, April 19.

SFCC will be represented in Rainbow Six Siege by Drake Miller, Trenton Toler, Jacob Tylar Dakota Taylor, and Matthew Kreisler. They will begin play on Saturday, April 20.

"We're feeling really good about playoffs this semester," said Head Coach Jacob Coleman. "Our team has put in a lot of work in practice. We are anticipating a good playoff run. We only had two players not make it to playoffs, so we did great this semester. We will be live streaming all of our games on Twitch, Facebook and Youtube. We will also be hosting watch parties for Grand Finals should we make it that far. Those will be on Saturday the 27th."
