Sanjay Watts

Sanjay Watts Watts played Roadrunner basketball as a sophomore during the 2007-2008 season. The St. Louis native finished first in school history in points per game with 21.9, ranking him 18th in the nation. Watts finished fourth in school history in rebounds per game with 8.063 and led his team to a 19-13 record. He earned All-Region 16 honors and National Junior College Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Honorable Mention All-American honors.

He transferred to the University of Central Missouri (UCM) where he scored 15.5 points and pulled down 6.1 rebounds per contest as a junior. He helped the Mules to a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) championship and a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II South Central Regional championship in which he was named MVP. Watts helped lead UCM to the Elite Eight at the national championship before the team fell in the semi-final round.

As a senior he led UCM to a 27-4 record and to another MIAA championship. The team fell one game short of another Elite Eight appearance. Watts led his team in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage during his two years at UCM and earned a total of five All-American honors.
