Alma Day

Alma Dey, one of SFCC’s “super fans,” gave her time, talents and heart to SFCC and its Athletics Program for more than 40 years.

She worked in the SFCC Business Office from 1968 to 1998 and served as “CEO” of the Booster Club concession stand for nearly 20 years. For more than 10 years, she ran the concession stand in the “Birdcage,” the place where the Roadrunners played basketball on the Fairgrounds.

When the Davis Center opened in 2001, Dey added her signature ham and beans with cornbread to the menu and spent countless hours buying supplies, setting up and staffing the stand, generating substantial funds for SFCC’s basketball teams.

After resigning as concessions organizer in 2007, she and her husband Bill were still active Booster Club members, “adopting” student athletes and working the admissions gate. Dey’s extraordinary dedication and generosity exemplified true Roadrunner spirit.
