Lady Roadrunners Add Four to 2020-2021 Recruiting Class

State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners Basketball Head Coach Kevin Bucher has announced four new additions to his recruiting class. They are Tierney Echols, TyRaven Linwood, Aaliyah Chambers, and Donnisia Harrison. They have all signed their National Letters Of Intent and will begin their academic and athletic careers at SFCC in the fall.

Echols is a 5'9'' guard/forward who played her high school basketball at Memphis Academy of Health and Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee, where she averaged 16 points per game, 8.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and three steals as a senior. She was named to the Memphis Commercial Appeal Newspaper Top 15 in Memphis as a senior. She scored 1,439 points during her high school career and was a four-year starter. Echols was named first-team all-conference and first-team all-district tournament team. As a junior, she helped her team finish one game away from the state championship.

"Tierney is the type of player who can do everything," said Bucher. "She played multiple positions in high school. She can shoot the ball from the midrange, as well as outside. She was highly recruited by us. She is fast, athletic and strong. We are extremely pleased to be able to add her to our program."

Linwood is a 6'0 point guard/shooting guard who played her high school basketball at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Texas. Linwood was a four-year starter in high school where she led her team to a state championship. Linwood was also named the Most Valuable Player. Linwood earned first-team all-district in 2019 and 2020. She earned the Offensive Most Valuable Player for her district in 2020. As a senior, she averaged 18 points per game, seven rebounds, five assists, and five blocked shots.

"She is an athletic player who can handle the basketball and shoot the three," said Bucher. "She runs the floor well and has nice size for a guard. She can also press and trap. She fits well into our style of play. She is a very talented, athletic kid who knows how to win."

Chambers is a 5'10'' point guard/shooting guard who played her high school basketball at Lee's Summit West High School. Chambers sat out her senior year due to injury.

"Her dad played at Moberly when I was the head women's basketball coach there," said Bucher "I know she comes from a winning family. She is a very athletic player who can press and run. She has great size on the wing or as a point guard. We are excited to have her."

Harrison is a 5'11'' guard/forward who played her high school basketball at Westinghouse High School in Chicago, Illinois. Harris averaged 16 points, six assists, and four rebounds as a senior. She was named all-metro Chicago first-team and all-conference first-team during her high school career.

"I saw her play against fellow Lady Roadrunners signee Jakyah Amous," said Bucher. "Donnisia can post up and also shoot the three-point shot. She can also drive with the ball. We were very fortunate to add to her to our program, because there were a lot of schools wanting her. I think it helped that Jakyah was coming here."
