Men's basketball signs Kamari Balton

State Fair Community College Head Men's Basketball Coach Matt Brown has announced the addition of transfer Kamari Balton. He is a 6'1'' guard, who played his freshman year at North Arkansas College, a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II school in Harrison, Arkansas.

Balton had an outstanding freshman season at North Arkansas. He placed 12th in scoring in NJCAA Division II averaging 21.7 points per game. He also finished fifth in the country in assists per game with seven. He averaged 5.9 rebounds and led his team in steals per game with 2.1 while helping the team to a 19-11 record. Balton was named a 2017-2018 NJCAA Division II first-team All-American for his efforts.

"Kamari plays well with or without the basketball," said Brown. "He has the ability to create scoring opportunities for himself or other teammates. He will help fill the void left by Andre (A.J.) Walker. Kamari played high school basketball in Jefferson City, so I'm sure his family and friends will be at our games to support the team."

Balton was a three-time all-district selection at Jefferson City High School where he played basketball for Blair Thompson.
