Roadrunners basketball signs Legrand

State Fair Community College Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown has announced the addition of Alonde Legrand. The Harlem, New York, native has signed a National Letter of Intent as the second recruit for the 2018-2019 class. Legrand is a 6'6'' guard/forward who spent last season as a redshirt at Division I Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

"Alonde is tall and a skilled passer," said Brown. "He shoots the ball well from the perimeter, so he has to be guarded. He also has a great basketball IQ. He understands how to play team basketball, and we are excited for him to join the team. Alonde is a good student who fits in with the type of student-athletes we want at SFCC."

Legrand played high school basketball at Berkshire Academy in Sheffield, Massachusetts, for Head Coach Doug Davis who played basketball at Princeton University.

As a senior at Berkshire, Legrand averaged 17 points per game. He also recorded six rebounds and four assists per game. Legrand led his team in scoring both his junior and senior seasons and finished second in scoring as a sophomore.
