Lady Roadrunners open season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners cross country team opened their 2023 campaign at the Southwest Baptist University Bearcat Invitational at the Bolivar City Municipal Golf Course.

SFCC finished 11th as a team at the event, which was comprised of mostly four-year colleges and universities. Tanner Maggard covered the 5K course in a team-best time of 21:38.5 to finish 52nd. Shelby West finished 56th with a time of 22:10.7. Adalyn Davis came in 82nd with a time of 24:15.4. Adamaris Ramirez finished 89th with a time of 25:10.4. Savanna Tracy came in 98th with a time of 27:11.0.

""We were excited to get our regular competition season started," said head coach Brad Hagedorn. "It was warm in Bolivar, but our athletes rose to the occasion. Coach Pauley had them prepared for a very tough environment. Tanner Maggard picked up where she left off last year, nearly setting a personal record. This race set the tone for what we hope is a very successful season."
