Cole captures a pair of top eight finishes

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners track and field team closed out the regular season portion of their indoor schedule at the Illinois College Hilltop Invite on Friday, February 16 inside King Fieldhouse in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Freshman Kira Phipps recorded the best finish for the Lady Roadrunners, finishing tied for fourth in the high jump with a jump of 1.45 meters.

Sophomore Keiyah Cole finished sixth in the 200m with a time of 26.89. Cole finished eighth in the 60m with a time of 8.06.

Freshman Shelby West finished sixth in the 3000m in a time of 11:57.54.

"We had a fabulous ending to our regular indoor track season," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Shelby West and Kira Phipps had great days. Shelby ran her first indoor race of the year with a fabulous performance in the 3000m. Kira continued a solid season in the pole vault with yet another school record. We will travel to Gainesville, Florida in two weeks to compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships."
