Lady Roadrunners fall at St. Louis Community College

The State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners (0-1-1, 0-1-1 in Region 16, 0-1-1 in the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference) lost to St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley on Thursday, Aug. 25, by a score of 3-0.

"We played well," said Lady Roadrunners Head Soccer Coach Eddie Horn. "We made a couple mistakes that I believe are easily correctable in practice. We were able to create chances offensively and had a couple opportunities we should have finished that would've changed the game around for us a little bit. We are still a work in progress, but we are getting better."

St. Louis Community College got on the scoreboard with a goal at the 15-minute, 38-second mark of the match and led 1-0 at halftime. They scored twice in the second half.

Coach Horn saw some positives in the match despite the loss.

"Kristen Farrell really shined in the midfield," said Horn. "She was able to create off the dribble. When she could get the ball facing the goal, she was able to beat a couple of players and slotted the ball across. I thought that was really good. Kylie King was great in goal. Maddie Davidson played some great through balls from the central midfield position."

SFCC will be back on the road Saturday night, Aug. 27, when they take on Kansas City Kansas Community College at 7 p.m.
