Lady Roadrunners host tournament

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners golf team hosted the Roadrunner Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 23-24 at the Sedalia Country Club.

As a team, SFCC shot 746 at the two-day event to finish fourth.

Ava Kirkpatrick shot a 93 in the first round and a 90 in round two for a total of 183. Hannah LeGrant shot an opening round 92 and followed that up with 93 in round two for a total of 185. Alena Scrogham shot a 97 in the opening round and a 91 in round two for a total of 188. Amelia Morris shot a 98 in the first round and a 92 in round two for a total of 190. Marlee Andrews shot a 108 round one and a 100 in round two for total of finish of 208.

"The conditions were difficult, as the sun and wind baked out the greens," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Chris Guffey. "Our ladies were able to rebound well from last week. We have a lot to get better at in the off-season, but I'm proud of our team. We consistently shot in the 360s as a team, which was our stated goal from the beginning of the year. Individually, there were a few highs and lows, but as a whole, we had a great inaugural fall season. We are looking forward to getting back to work and improving before next spring."
