Lady Roadrunners win three in a row

November 7 Haskell Indian Nations University Junior Varsity at Sedalia

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners defeated Haskell Indian Nations University Junior Varsity by a score of 114-47 on Monday night, November 7 inside the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center in Sedalia.

SFCC jumped out to a 26-13 lead at the end of one quarter and used momentum to pick up their third win of the season.

Seven Lady Roadrunners scored in double figures on the evening. Freshman forward Aiyanna Tanksley led the team in scoring with 19 points. Freshman guard Perryauna Youmans and sophomore guard Biance Stocks scored 17 points each. Freshman forward Jaida Shipp had 14 points and eight rebounds. Freshman forward Samantha Queatham added 11 points. Sophomore forward Autumn Wallace also had 11 points and six rebounds.

SFCC outrebounded Haskell 39-13. SFCC shot 10 of 17 from the free-throw line. SFCC forced 33 turnovers in the game.

"I felt like we struggled to get going today," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "It was pretty sloppy. It was an opportunity for us to work on some things and get better. I thought we did a good job in our transition offense. We were able to get a lot of kids some playing time."

November 11 Kansas Wesleyan University Junior Varsity at Iola, Kansas

SFCC defeated Kansas Wesleyan University Junior Varsity 93-43 on Friday, November 11 in Iola, Kansas. SFCC jumped out to an early 27-10 lead and never looked back.

Every Lady Roadrunner who played in the contest scored. Wallace led five Lady Roadrunners in double figures with 20 points. Tanksley contributed 18 points. Youmans added 12 points and a team-high 10 assists for a double-double. Youmans tied for the team lead in steals with sophomore guard Paige Spencer and sophomore guard Kayla Dooley with three each. Spencer also scored 12 points. Shipp registered a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 14 rebounds.

November 12 Bethel College Junior Varsity at Iola, Kansas

SFCC (5-1) defeated Bethel College Junior Varsity 122-41 on Saturday, November 12 in Iola, Kansas. SFCC held Bethel to single digits scoring in three of the four quarters to earn their third victory in a row.

Every Lady Roadrunner who played in the contest scored for the second time over the weekend. Six Lady Roadrunners scored in double figures in the contest. Spencer led the team in scoring with 22 points. Spencer also tied for the team lead in steals with four. Wallace contributed 21 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Tanksley added 17 points. Freshman guard Kylee Ash pitched in with 16 points, a team-high seven assists, and tied for the team lead in steals with four. SFCC recorded 36 assists on 50 baskets as a team.
