Dec. 3 - Jefferson College at Moberly

The SFCC Lady Roadrunners picked up a 74-55 victory over the Jefferson College Lady Vikings from Hillsboro in the opening round of the Region 16 Classic in Moberly on Friday.

SFCC took a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter. They stretched the advantage to 49-33 at halftime. The Lady Vikings battled their way back into the game. However, SFCC had the answers to earn a Region 16 victory.

Freshman forward Quincenia Jackson recorded a double-double with 27 points and 17 rebounds to lead SFCC in both categories. Freshman forward Autumn Wallace pulled down 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Grace Goodwin contributed 10 points, led in assists with four, and in steals with two.

"I thought the girls did a lot of good things, as far as sharing the ball and moving the ball," said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Nicole Collier. "We did a nice job of paying attention to changing defenses. I wish we could've done a better job of taking care of the basketball and handling pressure, but I think a coach's expectations are always a little bit higher regardless of the outcome of the game. Overall, I thought our team played really well."

Dec. 4 - Three Rivers Community College at Moberly

SFCC took the fourth-ranked Three Rivers Community College Lady Raiders to the brink. However, the upset bid fell short. SFCC fell by a score of 71-65 in the second round of the Region 16 Classic in Moberly on Saturday.

SFCC trailed 19-15 at the end of the first quarter and 45-33 headed into halftime. The Lady Roadrunners refused to go away cutting the deficit to 55-48 at the end of three quarters.

SFCC trimmed the deficit to one point early in the fourth quarter. The Lady Roadrunners grabbed a 63-62 lead with two minutes and 45 seconds remaining. Three Rivers took a one-point advantage at 66-65 with about 46 seconds remaining. Three Rivers forced a turnover on the ensuing possession. The Lady Raiders made just enough of their free-throw opportunities to escape with the victory.

Jackson put together yet another double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead SFCC in both categories. Goodwin added 13 points and a team-high two steals. Sophomore post Jakyah Amous pitched in 10 points. Sophomore guard Eliyah Howard dished out a team-high four assists.

"After we settled into the game, I thought we shot the ball well from the perimeter," said Collier. "We were able to move the ball very well as a team. It was a fun game to coach; the players were all very much engaged. They were coachable. We were able to make some adjustments on the fly, which is something we have struggled with. Our students played really hard; they fought. It was a fantastic team effort."

Dec. 5 - Moberly Area Community College at Moberly

SFCC (6-7, 2-3 in Region 16) fell 88-34 to the 16th-ranked Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds to close out the Region 16 Classic in Moberly on Sunday evening.
