SFCC Shooting Sports participates in Drury Classic

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) shooting sports team traveled to Springfield to participate in the Drury Classic on September 9. The team participated in American Trap, American Skeet, Five Stand, and Sporting Clays.

NJ McKenzie took home first place in Sporting Clays with a score of 98 out of 100. McKenzie also earned second place in the high overall with a score of 329 out of 350. McKenzie scored a 96 In American Skeet, 90 in America Trap, and a 45 out of 50 in Five Stand.

Anthony Walls finished in a seven-way tie for second place in American Skeet with a score of 98 out of 100. As a team, SFCC finished fifth place. The teams are made up of the high score for each school and each event.

"We took 15 different kids to the event," said SFCC Head Coach Sarah Manuel. "Matthew Richardson and Ben Engemann really improved their scores and have shown that they are willing to compete."
