Roadrunners finish fifth at Indian Hills

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners cross country team finished fifth at the Indian Hills Invitational at the Cedar Creek Golf Course in Ottumwa, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 13.

Josh Schaffart finished 14th for the Roadrunners on the 8K course in a time of 26:58.0 to finish 14th overall. Justin Horn finished 27th with a time of 28:03.0. Guadalupe Rodriguez finished 31st with a time of 28:14.0. Gavin Zumwalt finished 33rd with a time of 28:22.7. David Leon finished 42nd with a time of 29:12.4. Nickolas Crowell finished 62nd with a time of 32:04.5. Noah Holtmeyer finished 64th with a time of 32:11.9. Mario Nunez finished 66th with a time of 32:52.3.

"We went into this meet excited to run in cooler conditions than their previous races," said Assistant Coach Cooper Pauley. "Everyone went out aggressive but controlled, and really fought during the middle half of the race to keep their pacing even. At the end of the race, all eight runners had a new 8,000 meter personal record and we had a new school record as well!"
