The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners faced more tough competition at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Friday, Sept. 29 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. SFCC finished 22nd as a team in the Prairie Fire Pepper 8K.

Josh Schaffart finished 85th overall with a time of 29:16.3. Ryan Bailey finished 154th with a time of 31:20.2. David Leon finished 158th with a time of 31:32.9. Kaiden Smith finished 174th in a time of 32:09.0. Guadalupe Rodriguez finished 192nd with a time of 32:54.3. Noah Holtmeyer finished 238th with a time of 35:57.4. Nickolas Crowell finished 246th with a time of 37:24.2. Mario Nunez finished 247th with a time of 37:24.9.

"We did well, but the heat was just too much for the times over the 8K distance," said assistant coach Cooper Pauley. "However, we were able to come away with a couple of personal records on the day. The team continues to 'pack up' in groups and those positive race strategies will lead us to some fast times at the upcoming meets."
