SFCC cross country competes in Missouri Southern Stampede

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) cross country teams traveled to Joplin, Missouri to compete in the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday, Sept. 18. The Roadrunners competed with a full team in the College/Junior College division. SFCC finished 13th as a team in the 8K race.

Freshman Ethan Montgomery was the top individual finisher for the Roadrunners finishing 38th with a time of 28:11.9. Freshman Logan Shaw finished 49th in a time of 28:27.7. Freshman Ty Lewis placed 63rd in a time of 29:16.3. Freshman Juan Herrera finished 93rd in a time of 30:31.8. Sophomore Zack Dyer finished 96th with a time of 30:43.5. Freshman Ryan Smith finished 101st with a time of 31:09.1.

Freshman Korry Davis represented the Lady Roadrunners finishing 76th in the women's 5K race with a time of 23:42.9.

"It was our first race at official competition distance," said SFCC Cross Country Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "We could not have asked anything more from our kids. They ran unbelievably well today. After today, I think they have found the confidence to really make some big improvements over the next month."

SFCC will return to action at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 2.
