Ligon scores for SFCC at NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship

Four State Fair Community College (SFCC) student-athletes competed at the at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Florida on Friday, March 1.

Freshman Peyton Ligon finished tied for eighth in the men's high jump with a jump of 1.99 meters to record the best finish for SFCC.

Freshman David Leon finished the men's 600 in 1:22.34 to place 19th.

Freshman Molly Prichard threw 11.86 meters in the women's shot put to finish 16th.

Sophomore Keiyah Cole finished 30th in the women's 60m with a time of 8.14.

"We took four events to Indoor Nationals and we came home with two school records and an All-American," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Peyton, Molly, David and Keiyah represented our school and team very well. Our highlight was certainly Peyton in the high jump. We begin our outdoor season in two weeks and hope to continue the momentum from the last two meets."
