Ligon and Morris claim individual event titles at Hilltop Invite

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners track and field team closed out the regular season portion of their indoor schedule at the Illinois College Hilltop Invite on Friday, February 16 inside King Fieldhouse in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Freshman Peyton Ligon won the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters. Freshman Caden Morris captured the title in the triple jump with a jump of 13.28 meters. Freshman David Leon finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.81. Sophomore Addison Richards finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.03.

"We had a fabulous ending to our regular indoor track season," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "Justin Horn, Peyton Ligon and Caden Morris led the way for the Roadrunners. It was nice getting Peyton back from injury with the win in the high jump. Caden is making his way back to competitive shape with the win in the triple jump. We will travel to Gainesville, Florida in two weeks to compete in the NJCAA Indoor National Championships."
