Roadrunners open Indoor season

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Roadrunners earned 15 team points at the Redhawks Invite inside the Southeast Student Recreation Center in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Freshman Peyton Ligon recorded the best individual finish for the Roadrunners. Ligon finished the high jump second with a jump of 2.00 meters.

Freshman David Leon finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.65.

Freshman Joseph Bland finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 14.87 meters.

"It was a great start to our indoor season," said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. "We talked about staying emotionally balanced through the day and that there would be highs and lows. However, I struggled to see any lows. We competed very well. It was the first Indoor meet ever for some of our athletes. Peyton Ligon finished second in the high jump and already qualified for our Indoor National Championships. Joe Bland broke the school record in the shot put and Isaiah Waller broke the school record in the weight throw. We look to continue to improve Friday at UCM."
